It is important, that all the drawings made by your company use the same layer names. To achieve this you have a few possibilities: Create all the layers in the prototype-drawing. The disadvantage of this is, that you have too many layers in most drawings, or you create a list on paper, and expects from all your personell to use this. The changes of typing-errors makes this a less than perfect approach. We like to present our solution:
Here we also use a list, but this list is presented in a dialog. User selects the desired layers, (use the CRTL key..), and the layers will be created with the correct linetypes and colors. The list is in fact a text-file, that can be edited to your needs. The same list is used by the NEW LAYER option in our DDLMODE program.
